Davis Wu
The computational designer
Davis is an architectural designer and advanced 3D modeller with a deep interest in narrative-driven design and using drawing to communicate.
Having earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Auckland, Davis has spent his years exploring how architecture can be experienced and communicated through drawing, model-making, parametric programming and immersive digital environments. He has spent time exploring the flow from the physical world to the digital world (through 3D scanning and modelling) and back to the physical world through additive fabrication.
Davis brings technical precision to his work. His prior expertise includes digitally sculpting 3D-scanned historical elements, a skill he applied to the restoration of a category 1 heritage neo classical facade, from scans through to detailed fabrication.
Beyond practice, Davis is a regular tutor at the University of Auckland, where he shares his knowledge of digital design and participates in research projects alongside university faculty.
